About Verrazano-Narrows Bridge

Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is located in between Staten Island and Brooklyn in New York. Construction of the bridge began in 1959 and in the 1964 opened the bridge, it was the world's largest suspension bridge until 1981. The bridge has two floors with 6 lanes in each floor.
The bridge is named after the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, he was the first known European to passing the strait The Narrows and discovered New York and the Hudson River.
